About Us
In Mexico fondas are small mom-and-pop joints with just a few tables; simple unpretentious eateries. At Fonda Lupita we make traditional Mexican homemade food from recipes past on from generations selling food in Queretaro Mexico. Our mission is to bring those flavors to Sanford for people that haven't tried this kind of Mexican cuisine. We make fresh hand made corn tortillas and gorditas, our salsas are made with fresh roasted peppers and tomatillos to provide high-quality food. Fonda Lupita is proudly owned and operated by immigrant women.
The Menu
We make guisos (Mexican stews) that can be ordered with rice, beans and tortillas or they can be used as fillings for gorditas. We serve menudo and pozole every weekend.
Gorditas
Our most popular item, gorditas are homemade thick corn tortillas stuffed with your choice of filling, like chicharron prensado, carne asada or carnitas.
Menudo
We serve menudo every Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm. Menudo is a Mexican soup made with cow's stomach in broth with a chilli pepper base.
Tacos
Tacos with home made tortillas are available every day but there is more options for Taco Tuesday
